Since I figure I'm going to be hyper for a while now, I'll take about, hm.. L'arc en Ciel's latest album: AWAKE. For those of you who don't know L'arc En Ciel :

Absolute Laruku Info Make sure to check out Hyde's personal webpage, his 666 concert goods rock. I feel like getting his stuff. XD. And yeah, if you people actually noticed I branded my msn nick as: Sons Of All Pussys at one point of time not too long ago, that's actually Ken's side project band.. Do check them out. Their webpage rocks, that's for sure.
Going on to the new album itself, overall, I'd rate it 8/10. What's more it's more a shojo album, pop stuff that the girlies like. Haha, but not forgetting their male following, they had but two heavier tracks which still were on the happier side during choruses. I'll go OOP here for a while but when I first picked up the album:

1. NEW WORLD
Yes, if you read my blog I have been talking about New World since april or so. Frankly, it's a really good song and I've been wanting to play it for a while, still figuring out the chords though. Gah. Hyde's voice suits the song definitely, but Tetsu's making the song work. :D, bass riffs are amazing, his solo is cool too. Of course Yukihiro's sharp beats make it edgy too. I obviously like the chords so I'm not goign to talk about Ken cause I'll gooo ooooon and oooon and onnnn.
2. LOST HEAVEN
This is my favourite track on the whole album. It's got a wholesome sound and everything's perfect, like it's all in place and they just know how to do it. The bG efx plus having a acoustic + electric. Masterpiece for success. Strings Programming is good, + the BGM vox for the accents are good. I especially like the pre solo and the bridge, it's sweet and simple and comes out right. This track is really classy in a way, and the melody is catchy.

3. 敍情詩
Gackt should sing this song.. Not Hyde, unfortunately, his voice isn't as good as gackt's. It's a nice relaxed song, though obviously not what I usually listen too. But it's got a nice melody too. :D, has Ken showing of his style prowess.
4. TRUST
I a really boring song, I haven't really sat down properly and listened to this one.. A hell lot of reverb in it. It actually gets really packed into the 2/3rd of the song, and sounds really cool. And to make up for the lameness of the song, the solo wasn't all that bad :D.
5. Killing Me
I love the PV for this. It's the best rocky song on the album, it's got a nice tune, and the chord progression is nice and fast. Lively Yeah! Hyde's voice suits the song perfectly, probably the best song for him. And yeah, Hyde's make for rock :D. The guitar solo is fun!!! If they tour I'd so loove to see Ken doing the flying last note XD. See whether I can copy that. XDDDDDDDDD, too bad man, someone's gotta do it live :D As usual, Yukihiro delivering great beats WAHOO! Cool and rockin' song.
6. AS ONE
This is a great song to follow Killing Me. Everyone hold on to your speakers/headphones, this heavy metal track will make you think twice before you call laruku a totally pop-py-ish group XD. Finally the double pedals are put to proper use. XD. Nice Intro riff. But the Chorus is too nice? Sort of, I guess they want to appeal to the girls so they have to make it more.. Soft. GAH! Anyways, the chord ryth is similliar to Potemkin's theme in GGX. Nice yeah.
7. My Dear
So it's time to tone down after all that jumpin' around.. My Dear sounds ghastly similiar to one of Utada Hikaru's songs. I don't like it. :D
8. Existance
YEAH, A ME RI KAN LOKKU! This is the real HYDE doing his stuff. Existance however, also has a pretty crappy pre solo around 1:49, but cut to the crap and listen to the lameass short solo which wasn't given enough time to develope. But I like the Main Riff, it's s3Xy! I'm sure HYDE would've let the bridge slip and done some ass kickin there instead. XD, too bad it's not a solo album HYDE~ Haha, cool half dark - shadowy song. Nyaan.
9. Jiyuu e no Shoutai
I saw the PV for this on Animax.. Twice and I suddenly realised.. WAS THAT PAUL GILBERT IN THEIR PV?????????????????!!!!!!!!! Now I'm think O M G W T F, which does not stand for Orange Medium Grade Water Take Free. But I don't think so, cause I was seeing more of HYDE being chained up #_o. Very Nice Guitar Solo and E string paddle. Enjoyable song, and HYDE's voice is nice in this one though it's as high as the stuff in 敍情詩.. And it's actually based on Driver's High. I do the similiar tracks in another post probably..
10. Ophelia
This is the ultimatum. Musician prowess. I shall say no more will I sit through this track and fully enjoy it.
11. 星空
Very nice song, they seem to have gone back to their roots slightly for this song. More of their artistic stuff. Slow song.
12. twinkle, twinkle
I really really like the intro for this song. It's got the best intro of all the songs, but what really upset me was that it DEGRADED to HYDE's weird singing. And the syth arrangment really put me off. I don't like it to procceed in that way!!! But it's a nice song for an anime ending theme yeah.

The top 5 are really the best songs on the album. The rest are more of the commercial aspect of the album so it can sell.
IF dear Laruku would stop rewritting their old songs and adding new melodies always, it might be hard, but then they'd be more popular overseas as well, Diru next time maybe. I got their latest album Withering to Death in August and then their like realeasing a NEW DVD or something so soon. GAH. OK, whatever. CHILL PEOPLE!
