Art of Life]--(
X Japan))
X Japan Mania.
This is probably the first time I have been made to listen and play X Japan songs.
Anyways, I'm finally relaxing. Oo~ Lovely Holidays. (Yes, one big excuse to say I'm on holiday as well).
Listening to X Japan, I FINALLY REALISED, why Marty Friedman plays the way he does. Guitarists with strong right hands.. Lalala~ And I still believe your drummer makes your song sound cool. It's all about the drums people, the drums!!! Guitarists have different classification. So then, it's about the drums!!!
So how many people besides me don't play the instrument they admire the most as their main instrument.
Hmm...:
5 Bassists who admire Guitar
8 Bassists who admire Drums
1 Bassist who admires Vox
2 Guitarists who admire Bass
2 Guitarists who admire Drums
1 Drummer who admires Bass
2 Drummers who admire Guitar
16 Vocalists who admire Guitar
3 Vocalists who admire Drums
0 Vocalists who admire Bass (Sad)
1 Keyboardist who admires Guitar
Most of the Drummers I know are a bit cocky, so they'd rather quote how all instruments are equal and all that "I'm an arrogant smart-ass bastard" bullcrap instead of chillin' out, hangin' loose and answerin' my question.
Fortunately for me, I realised the Bassists and Vocalists I know are more open and prefer to reply. YAY. And few guitarists want to not be a guitarist :D. Drums are cool ok. NO PRAY PRAY MAN. I only managed to ask one keyboardist. hahah.
Oh yeah, someone requested I blog about what rules I set for myself cos I seem unlike most cocky bastards who can play lotsa stuff. (har, I hardly think so. But thanks.)
HOLY RULES1) Do finger exercises everyday. (Scales included)
2) Learn something new everyday.
3) At least play a few open chords everyday.
4) PRACTICE UNTIL YOU CAN DO IT!
5) Sit up straight. (4 hours of sitting slouched gives you 15 mins of PAIN.)
6) If you have more than one guitar, try not to leave them idle for more than 2 days. (in the case of acoustic guitars, Cos the weather here in SG sucks, it'd be dumb to take it out so much.)
7) Occassionally train your ears by practising the art of "EAR COPY" (as the Japanese say it), chord songs by ear.
8) Chill out after a while.
9) Try your best to ignore irritating passers-by when practising.
10) Esp. if you are a guy. DON'T BE SO CONCERNED ABOUT SHOWING OFF, YOU DICKS.
Yeah, this is more like advice to you all. 10 SIMPLE things to be aware of when practicing your guitar.
